Preston Lewis

Carpenter

“I enjoy seeing how all the individual pieces of a project come together to bring a home back to its former glory.”

Preston’s passion for woodworking began at a young age, creating intricate intarsia art pieces before progressing to furniture building and other custom woodworking projects. After completing the carpentry program at South Central College, he spent five years working for a remodeling and homebuilding contractor, where he developed a particular appreciation for older homes. A lifelong history enthusiast, Preston was drawn to Ben Quie & Sons because of the company’s focus on restoring and remodeling historic homes throughout the Twin Cities.

As a carpenter, Preston enjoys the variety that comes with remodeling. Every project presents new challenges, opportunities to learn, and the satisfaction of seeing many moving parts come together into a finished space. He believes the best projects are built through collaboration, where different perspectives help create stronger solutions and better outcomes for homeowners.

Outside of work, Preston enjoys metal detecting, relic hunting, skateboarding, and hiking. His love of history extends beyond the jobsite, often leading him to explore the stories and artifacts of the past.
