Founded in 1988
What began as a summer job in the 1980s sparked a lifelong passion for remodeling. In 1988, founder Ben Quie launched Tectonic Construction—later becoming Ben Quie & Sons—with a simple goal: to bring craftsmanship and care to every project. For the first two decades, it was a small team focused entirely on the hands-on work. After the 2008 recession, Ben shifted his focus to growing the business, building the systems and structure to serve more homeowners without sacrificing quality.
Sam Quie joined the business as soon as he was old enough to work on job sites—first sweeping floors, now leading as company president. Together, they’ve built a reputation as the go-to remodeling team for historic and vintage homes in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
