Contemporary Kitchen Design
A condo located in Falcon Heights was due for a refresh. We brought it out of the 80s and into the present, crafting a contemporary kitchen design. From the paneled refrigerator to the Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops, these carefully thought-out details helped to create a functional, minimalist masterpiece.
Paneled Perfection
At the heart of this contemporary kitchen design are book-matched walnut panels and cabinets. By paneling the appliances, it creates a camouflage which helps give a more natural and understated look. Overall, a cohesive design is elevated by the use of neutral countertops and flooring.

Galley-Style Design Increases Functionality
By definition, a galley-style kitchen is two parallel countertops that incorporate a walking area in between. Placing the fridge on the back wall creates the perfect triangle. This smart design increases the ease of transitioning from fridge to stove to sink. Additionally, even with the small footprint, there is plenty of counter space to prep and storage to house your kitchen must-haves.
Subway Tile and Quartzite Countertops
A deep stainless steel sink sits below an open shelf that connects the flat-slab, euro-style cabinets. Notice that there isn’t a typical kitchen window to bring natural light in. For extra light, LED tape lights were installed. Bonus as it illuminates the porcelain subway tile backsplash. Lastly, a great alternative to marble tops, this kitchen uses Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops.
Now You See Me, Now You Don’t
In the far left corner of the kitchen there is a neat addition for these homeowners’ everyday use. This custom appliance garage/coffee station is perfect to help maintain the clean design. Imagine the ease of pulling this in and out each day!
